Hi Students!

I have produced this Webquest in order for you to learn the importance of since and for. It is very important to know how to combine the present perfect with since and for. So, you should be very focused doing this Webquest.

I hope you really enjoy the task.

Click on the button 'task' to be aware of the task you need to do.

Task

THE TASK: In groups of four, you need to plan a dialogue. The dialogue will be about two young couples who fell in love at first sight and had a great time in the summer. However, although they fell in love, they were separated. Two weeks after, they coincide again. They felt very surprised. Two members of the group will be boys and the other two, girls.

Have fun!

Process

(Rewatching the video again to check your answers).

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ODOj2jBUKW0

7. After finishing, one of the group members should type the answers in a Word or Oppen Office document and send them to the teacher's email.

TASK:

1- After doing the previous activities, you should think about the roles of every group member. Remember that you are 4 people:

  • SCRIPT WRITERS: you should write the script of your role-play all together. In order to do it properly, you should consider a meeting by chance between two couples who met in the summer. Therefore, you should ask and answer questions using the present perfect  as well as 'since' and 'for'. You can use the previous song to get some ideas.
    • For example, you can think of this situation: two couples meet in a café by chance ("Where have you been?" "Have you been studying here for three years?" "I have been thinking about you since I met you in the summer").

  • ACTORS/ACTRESSES: The 4 members of the group will perform the role-play in front of the camera or microphone. Two are boys and two are girls. You must read and remember the script. Practise your role a couple of times in order to perform it right.

  • CAMERA OPERATOR: In case you use https://flipgrid.com/, (use this code: flipgrid.com/enoral4)  one member at a time will have to record the role-play with the video camera on the mobile phone. This communicative situation cannot last more than 3 minutes.

    • However, if you decide to record your voice with https://voicethread.com/, make sure that your voice is audible. This communicative situation cannot last more than 3 minutes.

2- Finally, your task is competed successfully!

Evaluation

In order to assess you, I will use two rubrics posted on the website.

Additionally, I will give you some individual and group feedback.

Conclusion

Finally, you have finished the task! You should feel very confident if you meet your British summer love in the future!

I hope you have taken in everything we have learnt in this Webquest!

I will correct your role-play with the rubrics and I will give you some individual and group feedback by email.

Remember that you can use the present perfect with since and for. You can use:

      - since: to talk about when something started.

      - for: to talk about how long something has lasted.

Therefore, you will use or the other depending on the use you decide.

See you soon with more Webquests!
