Introduction
Creating a WebQuest- “You Won’t Work A Day In Your Life!”
Welcome to your WebQuest, designed especially for you. Read through this WebQuest and see what it is all about. You will begin with a “WebQuest Treasure Hunt”. You will be looking for the standards and goals you will be working on as you work on your WebQuest. Keep these in mind as you do your work.
Introduction-Step 1:
Choose a job you love and you'll never have to work a day in your life” – Confucius.
This quote is essential advice as you begin searching for your future career.
What do you dream of doing after you graduate from high school? Do you want to go into the workforce, go to college, go to tradeschool, or to a training program? Are you feeling a bit stressed as you think of this transition after your senior year? Are you feeling the pressure of deciding what you will do for the rest of your life?
The future is so bright, you’ve got to wear shades!
Task
Task-Step 2:
By the time you get to the end of your WebQuest, you will have a better understanding of what you might like to do after you graduate. You will be much clearer about your options and the way you can make your dreams come true. So keep an open mind and see where you end up. Remember the saying, “Do Not Go Where The Path May Lead, Go Instead Where There is No Path and Leave a Trail.”
You will work with anyone you choose as you explore careers, but aways have the option of working by yourself if that works better for you.
Process
Process-Step 3:
You will be keeping a log or a journal of the projects you will be doing in each step of the process. You will record the steps you have taken to find a job, the ideas you have come up with, and the resources that have helped you along your journey. As you learn about each career possibility, take notes.

Lori Gilbar from Vermont Family Network gave all seven websites to me for use in my Life Skills classes. We piloted these websites this spring in a North Country Union High School Alternative Elective I was chosen to teach called "Next Steps: Transition". These websites are safe and have been tested in this class. As a result, I want to use them in my WebQuest "You Won't Work A Day In Your Life!" with my students in Life Skills English.
