Write a Travelogue

Introduction

Travelogue is a piece of writing about a travel. It gives a lot of information about the places people visit and the people they met. They are a interesting resource as well as an important literary resource. It is the most commonly used way of creating writing skill by visiting a particular area and then putting it into the reader's mind. This Webquest is designed to enable the students to practice their writing skills and grammar. In this task, students will research a country and create a travelogue highlighting attractions and what they saw and learned while visiting using the web.  They will be researching their assigned country and writing about where you traveled and what you saw. As you are creating your travelogue, make sure to make it interesting so that others will want to read it and want to visit your country.  

Task

A travelogue of a journey to a foreign country in which you write a day to day account of where you went and what you saw. You should be using factual information about the location. Describe your flight to your destination, using some creativity. Talk about the food you ate and the places you went. Discuss some well-known attractions from your destination. You will share your travelogues with your friends by making a short presentation.

Second, pick a country and a city about which you are going to write a travelogue. Make a research about the places you will write and give some specific examples from there. You can pick anywhere from the world. Just make sure that you follow the steps for writing a travelogue. You can upload pictures of the place. You need to add the map of the country and city for visual aids.

This lesson is intended for students in college but it could be modified for younger or older students. For instance, younger students might not be required to produce their reports on web pages—posters might make more sense. Older students could be required to produce a travelogue with web pages.
