World War I was an important part of human history on this Earth. This war otherwise known as "The Great War" started in Europe when a Serbian nationalist assassinated the Archduke Franz Ferdinand. After this the War began and plagued Europe and eventually lead to the death of about 20 million people. This was probably the most devastating span of 4 years that the world had ever seen. This is an essential part of understanding what was happening in the world during this time, and how this war effected many aspects of life, and the political spectrum's of specific countries. Understanding these things will lead to a full understanding of the cause of this war and the aftermath this war left when all was said and done.
