Introduction
Welcome to the “World Vegetarian Diet” WebQuest! In this activity, you'll explore the diverse and delicious world of vegetarian cooking. You'll discover vegetarian recipes from around the globe, learn about their ingredients, and create promotional posters to share with your classmates.
October 1 is World Vegetarian Day on the National Day Calendar. The day kicks off Vegetarian Awareness Month and is a day to provide education and awareness about vegetarian diets.
This year's theme is "Mix it Up!" aiming to encourage people to explore and experiment with plant-based alternatives in their favorite dishes. It emphasizes the ease and variety of vegetarian options, suggesting that people can "Mix It Up" by substituting meat with plant-based ingredients or trying new vegetarian recipes.
It’s easy to Mix It Up! Simply cut down on meat and swap to more veggie-based food from the ever-expanding range of fantastic plant-based dishes and recipes.

Teacher Page
This WebQuest was edited by two members of USGGED, Türkiye, as part of the activities of the "Mediterranean Diet for Overall Health" (MedDiet4Health) Erasmus+ project (Project number: 2023-2-EL01-KA210-VET-000183592).
Through this activity, students strengthen their research and language skills by exploring and summarizing Mediterranean-inspired vegetarian recipes, while improving their digital communication through the collaborative e-cookbook. They develop cultural awareness and reflective thinking as they discuss their experiences. Vocational students further gain practical problem-solving skills, creativity in recipe presentation, and familiarity with digital tools used in food and hospitality fields, all essential competencies for both general and vocational education learners.
