Woodwind, Brass, Percussion, Oh My!!

Introduction

In this webquest, you will learn more about your instrument and other instruments by researching information on the Internet, the visit to The Musical Instrument Museum, listening to various instruments , and collaborating with your classmates.

The end product is a 1 page paper including the items listed here in task and process.

Task

Your tasks are the following:  



1.) Locate at least three facts about your instrument from three different sources.  Follow the links provided.

2.) Listen to sound files and identify which file is your instrument.

3.) Listen to sound files and identify at least three other instruments that are playing the melody

4.) Post three images of "old" versions of your instrument in the Google classroom.  These are shots taken from the MIM.

5)  Complete writing assignment which includes MIM scavenger hunt - to be passed out on site.

Process

3)  Listen to the sound files of instruments and take the identification quiz

4) Complete tour of MIM with handouts and include information in your paper.  Incorporate 3 images from the MIM into your paper.

Conclusion

It is important for you  to learn facts about your instrument. All instruments are different and have various characteristics that make them unique. I hope you enjoyed researching the Internet and visiting the MIM to find these facts! I also hope you enjoyed listening to the various sound files.   Keep learning about your horn.
