Introduction
This week, we will practice simple past and irregular verbs we learned last week with a fun and informative activity.
You will not only learn new things and have a chance to know the heroines of history, but also enhance your researching skills!
Task
- What I ask from you is to prepare a poster about the life of a woman you choose from the sources I have given to you, using past simple.
-
There are several websites to prepare posters such as Canva, Genial, Placeit, Venngage, PosterMyWall, Crello, PowerPoint, or any other creative tool you know!
-
You have one week to create your art -until the 13th of December-, and upload it to the discussion board.
-
You will vote for the ones you like the most in a poll and the three most-voted posters will be presented in 3-4 minutes.
-
This is an individual work.
Process
1- Go to the following links and take notes from the websites and videos (do not forget to read the descriptions of videos and you can turn on the subtitles if you wish!).
-
https://medium.com/the-mission/50-women-heroes-who-changed-the-world-c07eeffb7184
-
https://www.businessapac.com/remembering-famous-women-history/
-
You can also discover other websites, and find photos but please credit them in your assignment or ask me if you are not sure!
2- Prepare a poster which includes
-
Name of the person you chose
-
Her background and life (when did she live, when was she born, what did she do, why was she important, etc.)
-
Her photos (visuals are important in a poster as you know)
-
The reason why you chose this person
3- Remember that we are practicing past simple and these people either lived long ago or their experiences are not present or future, so you should make your sentences according to this.
4- Use your own words as much as possible, and indicate the quotes if you have any.
5- You will make comments on the posters of your friends, choose the ones you like the most in a poll, and three of your works that have the most votes will present their work in 3-4 minutes.
6- Be creative, discover, and have fun \(^▽^)/!!

Conclusion
After preparing your posters and uploading them on the discussion board on Saturday, you will have Sunday to make comments about your friends and choose the ones you like the most.
Three of the posters which have the highest votes will be announced on Monday, during our class.
Any of you can be one of the most liked ones, therefore each one of you should be ready to talk about what you have prepared to your classmates for 3-4 minutes.
