Stories are fun! But did you know that every good story has special parts? In this activity, you will learn about the parts of a story and write one yourself!

 

Task

You will:

1. Read a short story.

2. Find the parts of the story:

Process

 *Make a story map (like a drawing or chart).

*Write your own short story

* Fill Out a Story Map:

 

Who are the characters?

Where and when does it happen (setting)?

What is the problem?

What happens in the beginning, middle, and end?

How does it end (solution)?

 

4. Make It Colorful – draw pictures or decorate your map!

5. Write Your Own Story using

the same 5 parts.
