WHAT DO YOU HAVE IN YOUR TOWN?

Introduction

Do you sometimes ask yourself, how did our place came to be as a town? When, How and Who organized our municipality to become a town? What did it look like before it became a town? Is there a legend about it? Getting curious too? Come on! Let's do a small mission to find some answers. And who knows? During your  exploration, we'll found something interesting. Maybe you'll discover something that, somehow turns out to be "i-KMJS na yan" intensity level!

Task
  1. Trace the History & Development of your own town. Find out how your place was formed as a town. Find out the origin of your town's name and why is this the name given to it. Who were the first leaders or officials? Maybe there is an associated legend about your town. Maybe there are facts or trivia that your ancestors knew about your town.
  2. After gathering enough information and data about your town, narrate it through an essay or perhaps through a story, bulleted list, outline, or concept map, any of which that will show the History & Development of your place from its beginning to the present.
  3. Now that you have learned about the history of your town, create a reflection paper that expresses your feelings about how you felt when you learned about the events that took place in your town before reaching the current time and generation to which you belong. Were you satisfied, amazed, or disappointed with what you found out? What were the important developments that had the greatest impact on your town that still benefit the people in your town to this day? What is the importance of having knowledge about the History & Development of your own town as a student and as an individual in your society?

Conclusion

Congratulations! Now that you have finished your mission, did your curiosity about the history of your homeland get appeased? Were your questions about it answered? Did you find any funny, strange, or sad stories?

I hope you learned a lot from this that will give you additional knowledge that you can use in the future. I hope this has given you the importance of preserving the past history, cultures and traditions of our country. Yes, times pass but our homeland remains there for us and for many generations to come. As the saying goes, "Ang hindi lumingon sa pinanggalingan ay hindi makakarating sa paroroonan" There is nothing wrong with remembering the past because it is the continuation of our present and the future. So hopefully we can preserve it by reminiscing past history, cultures and traditions and not forget it.
