Introduction
In this section we will be talking about Nouns.
A noun is a part of speech. Nouns can play the role of subject, direct object or indirect object.
Nouns often refer to:
1. People
2. Things
3. Places
4. Animals
There are several different types of Nouns they are as follows:
1. Proper nouns: This refers to names of people or places.
2. Abstract nouns: This refers to ideas
3. Common nouns: This refers to a category or class of thing, they are usually written in lower case letters.
Task
Make a poster showing common nouns.
Tools you will need:
1. Glue
2. Cartridge Paper
3. Markers
4. Ruler
5. Magazine
Process
1. Look through the magazine and cut out examples of common nouns.
2. Use the glue to neatly glue the nouns on the cartridge paper.
3. Use markers to outline the common nouns that you have cut out.
4. Use markers to write at the top of your page the title, which should be, "Common Nouns."
Evaluation
Evaluation and Rubric
1- 5 points for neat presentation of the pictures that have been glued to the cartridge paper.
1-5 points for the correct usage of common nouns.
Total 10 points.
Conclusion
By the end of the lesson, students will be aware of the different types of nouns, in particular common nouns.
They will have created a poster in which they are displaying their understanding of common nouns through pictures that they have pasted on cartridge paper.
