Women and Early American Literature- Ms. Dickerson's 7th grade classes

Introduction

Hi class!  For this assignment, we will focus on women in early Americian literature.  The era from 1840-1920 was a significant time for women in literature.  I think you will all enjoy this project!




Task

Each student will choose a woman who played a significant role in early American literature.  We should keep the time period between 1840 and 1920.  After you have chosen someone, you will create a "Fakebook" page.  Important information you will need to include:

Profile information

Background information relating to her literature and important works 

Include at least three major events of her life on your wall

Process

You will first need to access the appropriate site to complete this assigment: www.classtool.net/FB/home-page 

Once you are on the main page, you will create your own personal account and then input researched material.  Don't forget to use a cover photo that relates to your subject. Refer to the marksheet for content that is required. When you are finished, be sure to save your work!  Have fun!

The Fakebook includes completed ‘blocks’ on the   left-hand side (e.g. “friends”, “hobbies”, “family”). Award 1 mark for each   complete block, up to a maximum of 3.

The Fakebook includes a cover image at the top of   the screen behind the main profile image. Award 2 marks only if it has an   obvious connection to the character.

The Fakebook includes profile information (birthday,   family members, place of birth, job, interests…)

The Fakebook “Wall” includes a series of (dated)   posts which outline the key events taking place in the character’s life and   career

Conclusion
