Who do YOU connect with?

Introduction

"It's the game of life. Do I win or do I lose? One day they're gonna shut the game down. I gotta have as much fun and go around the board as many times as I can before It's my turn to leave." --Tupac

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to walk in someone elses shoes? To know what they have been through and where they come from? Over the next few days you will be reading a story about four young girls who are realizing the impacts of adulthood. These girls come across Tupac's music and he sings about the things they're living. They see him and listen to his lyrics, and it's like they're looking at themselves in the words. His art is real, he knows them and their lives and has something, to say that means something, and he's supposed to be "for always." like the best of friends are, even when the bullets come.

Jacqueline Woodson (born February 12, 1963) is an American writer of books for children and adolescents. She is from Columbus, Ohio. She wrote the book because Tupac was an extreme activist, and she wanted to write something that the reader could be attached to and go on an emotional journey with.

I hope you really enjoyed them and learned something new. I hope this inspired you to check out some of her other amazing books!I enjoyed making this web quest. I was able to read amazing stories as well as brainstorm activites that i could use in the classroom. The website is very easy to use and provided you with everything you need. Web quests would be difficult to do in the classroom considering there is only one computer. This would be something the students could do at home or in the computer lab.
