Scholarship Available!

Your school has given you the opportunity to apply for a four year scholarship and additional living exspense funds to attend a College of your choice. One of the elements of application is to keep an E-portfolio of your educational journey. You must start this process as soon as possible.  The commitee wants to know all about you and the progress that your will make. The final decision will not be made until your Senior year of High School However your portfolio must include information that begins in Middle School. So, let's start now! 

Task

Create your own E-portfolio!

     You are going to create your very own Web-page! This site will serve as your online educational portfolio. You may make changes to your web page as you grow and gain more experiences. Your E-portfolio will include a welcome, get to know me, classes, goals, career choice, and Educational  progress page.  You can update your page every year!

Part I Directions: Before we start let’s define some key terms.

  1. Log on to: www.computerhope.com/jargon/w/webpage.htm
  2. Copy and paste the following vocabulary to a document. (pages, word, google docs)
  3. Browse the computer hope site to define the vocabulry. Answers must not be copied and pasted they must be put into your own words.

Part two Directions: You will be working on your own to complete this project. You will have two weeks to finalize your web page. We will be using Weebly.com to create our web page E-portfolio.

  1. Watch tutorial video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I7PjTgpgqn8
  2. Go to: App store on your Ipad and download Weebly free for Ipad.
  3. Create a log-in username and password. Username should be some form of your name and password should be your initials and your ID number.

Part Three: Create your E-portfolio

  1. Log in to your weebly account
  2. Let’s get started.
  3. Create the following pages and tabs.
    1. Welcome page- Should include a short welcome to your page and what it is about.

Ex. Welcome my name is Frank Photo and this page is dedicated to my educational growth and experiences.  I hope to show you who I am, who I want to be, and my potential for success. I invite you to view my site. Enjoy!

  1. You insert pictures and change the color of your welcome page.
  2. Include your name
  3. Include a heading title: E-Portfolio
  4. Copy and paste the url and upload to schoology assignment. Make sure to Hyperlink it so that I can have quick access.

Note: You must only publish your work in order to preview it but make sure you un-publish before you log out each day

-who am I: Tell a little bit about yourself. This can be a video or a voice over written text.

-School life: an explanation of what you like and don’t like to do in school.

- social life: What type of things do you like to do for fun. You can include pictures.

        C. My Classes: make a tab for each of your classes. These pages will include links or pictures of some of your best work in those classes. Give a brief description of how you feel about the class.

        D. Goals: create tabs for Personal goals, Educational goals, family goals. For each of these goals you will give description and provide links (Buttons) to articles that give advice on how to reach those goals

         E. Careers: you will research two careers that you are interested. Create pictures that represent each career and buttons linked to a description of the job , the projected outcome, salary, education.

Your will also provide a written statement about why you chose this career.

F. Grades: provide pictures of your recent grade cards, Standardized test scores, and evaluations.
