This webquest is for:
ATHS Grade 11 students.
It is a mini webquest designed for one period to allow students to explore the meaning of functionalism in architecture.

Task
In groups, using the internet, and the reading from p131, Unlock 4
a) Find out who Louis Sullivan was and why was he so famous? Discover why was he a key turning point in the history of architecture?
Use illustrations to support your answer.
b) What sort of architecture do the Guggenheim Museum and the Farnsworth House represent?
List 2 advantages and disadvantages of this kind of architecture?
Process
Divide the work amongst your group to come up with the answers by the end of the lesson. Present your findings in a form of your choice- ie.poster/powerpoint or word with illustrations.
