Introduction
Reviews can be used to help others understand why they like or don't like something. It could be a product, an event, or for most it's a piece of media.
Task
Your task is to make a review of a song, book, or movie, or even online media (youtube video/channel, blog, webcomic) of your choice and what you like or not like about it.
Process
1. Select an example of media such as a song, book, movie, or online media of your choice.
2. Choose a method of your review.
- a one page written review
- powerpoint
- short video (3-6 min)
- a skit
- a poem
3. Summarize your selected media such as a brief synopsis, background or an explanation.
4. Your review of what you picked should be more than saying that you liked or didn't like it. Explain what in your opinion makes it good or bad, what are the aspects you like about it or not like about it.
5. You can also look at reviews of media for inspiration.
Evaluation
| Evaluation | Excellent | Good | Poor |
| Summary | A clear summary of the selection | A satisfactory summary of the selection | An undescriptive or no summary at all |
| Review | A clear, focused review that goes beyond addressing preferences and goes into analysis. | A focused, clear review with a well thought out opinion. | An unfocused, unclear review. |
Conclusion
By Now, you'll be able to think about about what media you, watch, listen or read. And also present what makes people enjoy, like, or argue that a certain media is good or bad.

Teacher Page
-This webquest will allow students to analyze and to express what they like or don't like about a book, film, or song.
- Encourage students to say/express more than saying "this movie stinks" when criticizing media.
- Students are also discouraged from undermining someone's opinion toward a certain media. This project should open discussions and not cause a "flame war" against a media.
