Introduction
It is important that students know how things affect the environment and their daily lives. Students need to also know things in there state as well as the rest of the world that can cause damage to the environment that such things have pros and cons and some things that affect the environment because of people and others are because of nature in this lesson some of these things will be looked at which are in the Strand 4 concept 5 of Arizona standards for 7th grade. All which will be help answer the question How does the Enviroment affect Arizona and us?


Task
This is a 5 day lesson plan that will have students doing research, watching videos, having class discussions to find answers on what affects the environment and how the environment affects Arizona and us? The final product will be posters and powerpoints made by groups describing ways humans population growth can affect environments and the capacity of environments and the support populations and comparing different points of view and research on environment issues.

Day 1 Students will watch videos on mining , water distribution in Arizona, and environment issues.

Day 2 Will start with a class discussion on review of the vidoes then students will work on the 5 theme of geography to build on prior knowledge with a work sheet on vocabulary environment/ nature from the websites

Day 3 Class will start with class discussion on how humans modify environmentand adapt to the environment and the positive and negative outcomes of human modification on the environment then students will read visitarizona and websites on hazards in Arizona and been prepard for these hazards students will have worksheets for homework environment problems and environment problems : some solutions using websites

Evaluation
The powerpoint and poster along with class discussions will be the assessments in this lesson to give students hands on learning and peer learning Students will understand How the Environment is effected by humans and how the environment and the change humans make to the enviroment affect our state and us as people living in Arizona. The power point and posters will be graded by an rubic.

Conclusion
It is important that students know and understand how things such as modifications affect our environment and how such modifications affect our daily lives. Students need an understanding of where our Water source comes from, how mining, industeral, farming affect the environment, how nature can cause damage to the environment. Students should understandthat anything that effects the environment can affect their life and other people,and not just in the area they live but in other areas also. Students should have a good idea and understanding what affects the environment and how the environment can affect their state and them this lesson give students that understanding.
