Webquest - How does Music Affects our Learning?

I’m a big fan of music, and use it a lot when working, but I had no idea about how it really affects our brains and bodies. Since music is such a big part of our lives, I thought it would be interesting and useful to have a look at some of the ways we react to it without even realizing.  

So how does music affect our learning?

Your task is to investigate some of the ways music affects our learning through cognitive processes in our brains. Research parts of the brain and how they all function, and which areas affect certain brain functions.  Go to the search bar on Google and type in the following: How does music affect our learning

Describe 5 ways music affects our learning.  Each number should be a paragraph in length, and focus on a specific area of the brain. There are many great websites on information on this topic, and I am confident you will be able to find adequate research through the web. At the end, write a reflective paragraph about how music affects you personally, and which genre of music is your favorite.  

Possible questions to prompt understanding include:

1. Do different genres of music affect people in different ways?

2. What is the Mozart Effect?

3. What areas of the brain are stimulated through exposure to music?

Checklist Assessment:

1. Did the student write 5 separate paragraphs with 5 different subject areas?

2. Did the student write a 6th paragraph as a relfection on the knowledge attained

3. Did the student use proper grammar and spelling
