We are interested to know how the eye works?
Task
Task
For this webquest we are going to investigate how the eye works.
Process
Process:
-
D: Find a picture of an eye and explain what each part of the eye does.
-
Lens: A lens changes the direction of light waves by refraction. It may form an image of a scene or an object
-
Iris: is a thin, circular structure in the eye, responsible for controlling the diameter and size of the pupil and thus the amount of light reaching the retina
-
Cornea: is the transparent front part of the eye that covers the iris, pupil, and anterior chamber.
-
Retina: is a light-sensitive layer at the back of the eye that covers about 65 percent of its interior surface.
-
Optic Nerve: connects the eye to the brain, and also carries the impulses formed by the retina, the nerve layer that lines the back of the eye and senses light and creates impulse
-
A: Research 2-3 common eye diseases that you get, how you get them, and how you cure them
-
The pink eye is a common disease, it's caused by allergies, chemicals, Virus or bacteria. It depends on the pink eye, just to not touch your face with dirty hands, and to wash your hands.
-
You clear them with eye drop.
-
M: Research artificial eyes or how they help blind people see
-
An artificial eye is a replacement for a natural eye lost because of injury or disease. The replacement cannot provide sight, it fills the cavity of the eye socket and serves as a cosmetic enhancement. Before, the availability of artificial eyes, a person who lost an eye usually wore a patch. An artificial eye can be attached to muscles in the socket to provide eye movement.
Today, most artificial eyes are made of plastic, with an average life of about 10 years. Children require more frequent replacement of the prosthesis due to rapid growth changes.
-
This helps blind people by,changing their lives. And changing their lives I meant, it restores the vision of blind people.

What did you learn?
What you learn that you found interesting?
-
In the webquest we research about the eye diseases, artificial eyes and how the eye works. Also, we learn every art about the eye, the different types of diseases, and how little kids that have lost an eye or got blind would get surgery and get an artificial eye.
-
One thing that we found interesting was that people got to get and artificial eye and got to see again. Another thing that we found interesting was that if it wasn’t for the retina we would see upside down.
