Introduction
Dear Students:
Hi my name is Thistle Snickerdoodles. I am from a planet called Pixie Dust. I would like to visit Earth but I need to know more about the weather there, such as the different types of weather and seasons which occur. What would be a great help to me is if you could make me a weather journal about some of the different types of weather on Earth.
Sincerely, Your Friend,
Thistle Snickerdoodles

Task
Your first task is to research different types of weather while making a weather journal. Your next task is to design a cover for your journal. In your journal you will draw pictures of the different weather patterns that match with their correct season.
Process
Each group will research facts about the different weather patterns and seasons in which they occur in on Earth.
Weather patterns: tornado, rain, snow, flood, earthquake, hurricane and lightning
Seasons: Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter
While researching the weather patterns, you will have to draw a picture of the weather pattern in your weather journal. Be sure to place the picture in the correct season of the journal. If the weather pattern occurs in more than one season, you will need to draw a picture in both areas of your journal.
Evaluation
Each student will be individually evaluated, even though they are working in groups.
Each student will complete a season journal which they will be evaluated on.
Conclusion
Now that you have learned important facts about some of the different weather patterns, it is your job to share your weather journal with a classmate, another teacher or your parents.
