Introduction
Congratulations!
You've just gotten a job at the Durham College Animal Hospital as their new Animal Care Attendant. The job is great - lots of hands on work with the patients, observing surgeries, answering phones, talking to clients... you love it. But you very quickly notice something about almost all of the patients: they have HORRIBLE breath.
The vets recommend clients brush their pet's teeth daily, but when you are on the front desk, most of them admit they have no idea how to do it or where to start. If only you could help them...
Task
Your boss has asked you to create instructions for clients so that they have information on caring for their pet's teeth at home. Since it's always important to explain why the veterinarian makes recommendations, you'll have to include certain information:
- What issues can be prevented with a dental home care plan
- How to introduce tooth brushing to a dog or cat if they have never experienced it before including how often to brush
- How to recognize dental disease
- How poor dental health can affect other body systems
