Introduction

It seems inevitable that Solar Energy will become one of the main sources of energy for varrious reasons. So it is important that you understand how this is going to impact on your daily living. Although solar energy is being used by millions of people around the world, in our country of Trinidad and Tobago, usage is not so common. This webquest will expose you to some of the application of solar energy. Which ones do you suppose you might use at home or school? 

Task

Your job is to find some ways that solar energy can be used at home or school.

Process

  • Step 1: In your mixed groupings of four members use the websites listed in the Credits/Resources section and read to learn how solar energy can be used in your day to day life
  •  Step 2: From these uses, identify the ways that would apply to you.
  • Step 3: Note carefully the method for building a solar oven.
  • Step 4:Work together in your groups to build the oven.
  • Step 5:Describe, with diagrams, how you can use solar energy to build an oven.
