Introduction
The United Nations is an international organization that has power to act on issues such, as peace and security, climate change, sustainable development, human rights, disarmament, terrorism, humanitarian and health emergencies, gender equality, governance, food production, and more. The United Nations has bad many success and received many accolades in the last 70 years but the organization has also had their fair share of failures. One of the biggest criticisms of the United Nations is their role in preventing and stopping genocide. While they have a prevention program, and guidelines on how to define and stop genocide, many governments, countries and people view this as one of their biggest failures. This WebQuest will help you analyze the United Nation’s role (or lack thereof) in preventing genocide.
Task
Your task is to examine the United Nation past role in preventing genocide. In a short essay you will explain weather or not you believe that the United Nations is failing to prevent genocide. Your essay should contain a clear, thought-out thesis statement as well as opening, supporting and concluding paragraph.
Process
Day 1
1) You will being by individually researching what genocide is, and the United Nations role in preventing it, using the links below.
2) Take notes while researching.
a) Remember to use google classroom to share idea and ask questions!
3) But the end of day one, you should have a clear thesis statement and at least 2 supporting idea.
Day 2
4) You should complete your research.
5) Finish your rough draft of essay.

Day 3
6) Complete final copy of essay, be ready to share ideas with the class!
