Introduction
Welcome to Techie Training!
This webquest will help you learn about a few of the many Web 2.0 tools that can be used in the classroom. Web 2.0 tools are dynamic tools that encourage user interaction and collaboration. They allow for aggregation, creation, editing, presentation, sharing, e-learning, assessment, and just about anything you desire. They are mostly housed in the cloud, and so they are accessible from any device, on any platform. They help to create a powerful learning environment where students use inquiry and critical thinking skills, and where they become inventors, producers, and evaluators. This journey will help you learn about some of these amazing resources for use in your classroom. At the end of this quest, you will have access to the research and opinions of others, generated by this quest.

Task
There are a vast variety of Web 2.0 tools. They can mainly be categorized as follows:
1) Collaboration Tools
2) Presentation Tools
3) Animation Tools
4) Video Tools
5) Surveys and Polls
6) Blogging
7) Photo Editing
8) Online Games and Quizzes
9) Mind Mapping Tools
10) Online Storage

Web 2.0 tools are abundantly available, but HOW they are used can make a difference in the learning outcome for our students. It is important to consider the SAMR model of integration when preparing to incorporate Web 2.0 tools.
You will research the four levels of the SAMR model, summarize your research, and provide examples of each level of integration.
You will also explore, test, and evaluate some of these tools, and begin to generate ideas as to how they can be incorporated into the classroom.
Process
STEP 1
Research the four levels of the SAMR model. Summarize your research and provide two examples of each level of integration.
You may want to begin your research by looking through these sites:

Alternately, you may want to begin your research by watching this video:

Share your research by filling out this questionnaire:
STEP 2
Choose two categories of tools. For each category, research two online tools that can be used for that purpose. One of the tools should be an easy tool to use, and another tool should have more advanced features. For example, there are many online tools to create presentations, and some are easier to use then others. Canva is very easy to use and takes minimal time to create a product, whereas Prezi is more involved and takes longer to create a product. You can watch videos for each here:

Here are some sites to begin your research:
The Best Web 2.0 Applications for Education In 2015 - So Far
For each tool:
(i) create a product using that tool
(ii) identify the benefits and drawbacks of the tool
(iii) describe one way that it could be used in the classroom with reference to the SAMR Model
Share your product and thoughts about each tool in this questionnaire:
Conclusion
Now that you have finished your research, you can view the research, thoughts, and products of others and use this as a source of ideas for the classroom. All survey responses can be found here:
