Introduction
"Solving Two-Step Equations"
Today you will learn how to solve and create two-step equations
1) Bellringer
2) Watch Flocabulary
3) Learn how to work two-step equations
4) Break into groups for an activity!!!
5) Read articles about Functions in Daily Life
5) Work on homework or go to Interactive Sites

Task
To refresh your memory on PEMDAS watch Flocabulary https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zanq7gmXY88
Last Week we learned how to solve one step equations... let's review! http://www.algebralab.org/lessons/lesson.aspx?file=Algebra_OneVariableOneStep.xml
Need Extra practice with One-step??
work some more one-step equations on this site
***You think you're good on one-step equations??
Then lets move on to next lesson:
Two-step Equations! :)
Process
What is a Two-Step Equation?
A two-step equation is an equation with BOTH addition/subraction AND mutplication/divison.
Read about what a Two-Step Equation is here: http://www.basic-mathematics.com/solving-two-step-equations.html
For example:

Watch a video on how to solve equations from Khan Academy:

Evaluation
---ACTIVITY---
Student Created Quizzes
It is your turn to create your own two-step equations.
Remember...
•Only use one variable, but it can be placed anywhere in the equation
•There has to be addition or subtraction AND multiplication or division for it to be considered a “two-step” equation
•There has to be an equals sign (=). Without the equals, it cannot be solved for the variable
••When you have created 5 equations, we wil trade our equations between groups.
Each student will hand in all 5 equations worked out.
