Storytelling at the Missouri History Museum

Introduction

The Missouri HistoryMuseum would like to expand its current Storytelling at the Museum to include young visitors from 5-8 years of age.  Because the MissouriHistoryMuseum believes that students learn best from their peers, they are asking students to tell the story of a famous Missourians and why their story inspires all of us to become Missouri heroes.  The MissouriHistoryMuseum will choose five stories and a hands-on craft to be presented at the weekly storytelling event.  Good Luck!

Task

Your task will be to choose a famous Missourian that you would like to learn more about.  You will research this person to learn about his or her early life, adult life, and major accomplishments.  Additionally, discover why this person is considered a hero and how they have influenced others.

You will create a bibliography using Storybird Studio and include the research information discussed above.  Additionally, you will create a craft or other activity that will spark interest in your famous Missourian.

Process

1. Choose a famous Missourian from the list. You may use the resources listed on this page or classroom resources.
