Introduction
Hello! My name is Mary Evans. I am a zoologist and I work to preserve and save endangered species!
Scientists believe species are becoming extinct at the rate of 1 every 15 minutes…100 each day…4,000-6,000 each year.
Your class has been chosen to help the FATSA: SAVE THE ANIMALS organization by creating a poster and giving a presentation to raise awareness and help preserve endangered species.

Task
You are the lucky ones! You will become endangered species experts!
To help you become experts you will first go on a scavenger hunt to find out the answers to some questions that deal with endangerment.
Then, you will complete a quiz to find out which endangered animal you are.
As an Endangered Animal specialist, you will research two more endangered animals and make a poster presenting their descriptions, habitats, diet, reasons for endangerment and other critical information to convince groups and individuals to do their part to preserve these unique animals!
Because there is much to learn about endangered species, it is best to work in pairs. One student will be the reader and the other will be the recorder. Choose which job you will take:
Reader: will read the information
Recorder: will write the answers on the worksheets
You will have to collaborate in all parts, apart from the quiz that you will both complete individually (one at a time).
Process
You are ready to begin your quest on endangered species! Here are the steps you will need to take:
Step 1:
First you should brainstorm some very important questions with your partner that will help you later in creating your posters. You will get information from the following sites. Complete worksheet 1. (https://drive.google.com/open?id=0BxIaHGmvnYW7cWczbGdtVEtSVnc)

Conclusion
You have completed your investigation on endangered species. I hope you have discovered how human activities are threatening the wildlife and that there are animals that are in real danger of becoming extinct in the future.
Perhaps with more attention, we can all work together for a better tomorrow. It was great working with you!
Thank you,
Mary Evans
