Spanish Speaking Countries Webquest

Introduction

Welcome!

Today you have the opportunity to do research on the 21 Spanish Speaking Countries of the World.

You will find some information that is typical in a presentation but the real challenge is to find some points of interest to tell the class about that would pique someone's interest in the country too.

You will need to create a presentation in SPANISH that will help a tourist know more about the country, places to visit, things to keep in mind when traveling and of course tell the traveler why they should travel to this country.

¡Buen viaje!

Task

You have chosen a Spanish Speaking Country for this project already.

You are to research this country and provide your findings to the class.

The presentation should include images of unique places, people, events, parks, natural resources, festivials, celebrations, daily life and anything appropriate that would attract our attention.

You will also research information about government, history, demographics, langauges, geographical features, economy, customs and traditions.

You must try to convince the audience that they want to travel to the country for a vacation. Make your presentation exciting!

You may choose how you would like to present the project. (MovieMaker, PowerPoint, Online Brochure, Website, etc) Please refer to the "Process" section for an outline of the information required for this project. There are also links to help you get started on your research.

Make sure you read the rubrics under section "Evaluation" before you begin. This will give you an idea of what is expected from this presentation when grading.

Process

The presentation will be graded not only on the content (information), but also on how well it is put together, choice of illustrations and images, organization of the information, the way it is presented to the class, and overall impression on the class. One of your goals is to make the students want to travel to this country. Another goal is to familiarize yourself with different cultures, governments, and economies becuase we live in an interconnected world, which means that in any future path you take, your knowledge of the surrounding world will not only benefit you, but also make you a leader.

To help you get started, the following outline could be used to both conduct your research AND organize your  presentation:

Conclusion

This is your opportunity to show us the country that you have choosen in great detail, include video clips, music, poetry, etc.

The presentation must not be more than 10 minutes long in and of itself. But, you can spend extra time showing us something new like; how to do a dance, how to make a cultural food, teach us something that we can experience.

DO NOT simply read off a paper or an electronic presentation word for word. Use these types of things to help you remember key componets not to just bored us to death.
