Introduction
Pursuing a second language, espaecially Spanish, is one of the most rewarding accomplishment one could ever gain. There are tons of benefits associated with learning a foreign language (Spanish, since it is my speciality area). Being multilingual is a blessing, as it opens several doors for you. You are more proned to getting better job opportunities, and with excellent job opportunities come marvellous salaries !
Spanish and multilingual or bilingual individuals are extremely marketable, they are in great demand. Possesing additional languages aid in the communication process also. One will become more competent communicators; being able to communicate with persons from different walks of life.
A knowledge of a second language, is said to enhance and better one's mother tongue.
In addition to all the material gains that come with being knowledgeable of a foreign language, individuals gain personally too. They feel a sense of fulfillment, accomplishment and actualization.
Task
Students will conduct a five minute research on three benefits of persuing a second language. Following which,a discussion will be done.
Process
There are several benefits of attaining a foreign language, some of which include:
- bettering one's mother tongue
- it is a personal acheivement
- one becomes marketable and in demand
- several job opportunitiues present themselves
- better salary as opposed to a monolingual individual
Evaluation
In evaluating students, they will write an expository essay on the topic ' Benefits of Pursuing a Foreign Language.' In this essay three points should be discussed.
