  • How did you show your love for them?
  • Will that "love" you feel stood the test of time?

        In this topic we are going to discuss how William Shakespeare showed her love through writing and how it stood the test of time.

Task

Read "Sonnet 18" by William Shakespeare. Go to this link (http://jomaribandola.wixsite.com/dyoomari). After that, answer the following questions and do the assigned tasks.

  1. What is your initial impression after reading the Sonnet?
  2. Do you feel the love of the author for the girl he loves?
  3. What is the message of the author?

Tasks:(25 minutes)MUSICIAN'S GROUP       Choose a song that has the same message with Sonnet 18 and explain the similarities. Present your work infront of the class. ACTORS' AND ACTRESSES' GROUP           Make a skit based on how you understood Sonnet 18. Present your work infront of the class. VISUAL ARTISTS' GROUP       On a 1/4 illustration board, draw your interpretation of Sonnet 18.  Explain and present your work infront of the class. WRITERS' GROUP       Write a poem with 2 stanzas with the same message like Sonnet 18. Present your work infront of the class. Note: Groups will be graded using a rubric.

         The Sonnet 18 is written for the girl that the author loves. The author compares the girl he loves to summer's day and said how summer can be imperfect. The author said the for her the  beauty of her love is eternal and as long as there are men that reads his sonnet, the beauty of his love will exist.
