This is Sam! Sam is starting a new school this year and would love your help to learn more about 2D shapes so that he is prepared for year three! You will make a booklet and record all of the information that you know about 2D shapes. You will be rewarded for your help! Good luck!

Task
Task
You are going to draw on all of the knowledge you have from learning about 2D shapes in class! Then you will create your very own shape booklet by answering the following questions. Your booklet will contain information that will help Sam be prepared for year three.

Process
Step 1:
You will need to look up the meaning of the following words. Draw a picture and write the definitions of each shape. You will include the number of sides, corners, and parallel lines on each shape.
- Circle
- Triangle
- Rectangle
- Square
- Quadrilateral
- Parallelogram
- Rhombus
- Trapezoid
- Pentagon
- Hexagon
- Octagon
Step 2:
Write down and/or draw as many objects as you can that you can see in the classroom that are 'special quadrilaterals'.
Step 3:
How many triangle are there?
What other shapes can you see?
Make your own shape puzzle.
Step 4:
Copy these rows of shapes into your booklet. Write the name and circle the regular shape in each row.
