Introduction
In the book "Tony Hogan bought me an ice cream float before he stole my Ma", the characters move from place to place living in several council estates and B&B's.
Task
You will in your groups look for the places the characters have lived and find information about them on the internet.
Process
Choose 2-3 major towns/cities the charaters have lived in or near and find out information about them on the internet.
Examples on areas of focus:
- Country
- Size (geographical/population etc.)
- Social Diversity (crime rate, drugs, working class/upper class)
Evaluation
Each group will spend 3-5 minutes presenting their findings on class and possible differences of opinion will be discussed.
Teacher (and perhaps some students as well) will make a few comments on the language, structure and findings of the presenting group.
