Task

While the black-footed ferret is endangered, it is not gone yet. It's time to do what we can do to make sure that the black-footed ferret is a part of the Colorado wildlife for many years to come. In order to begin saving the black-footed ferret, first we must understand them. In order to do so, use the internet to complete the following tasks:

1) Draw a picture to help others identify the black-footed ferret.

2) Write a menu for the black-footed ferret.

3) Make a "Danger" sign to tell how people have and are contributing to the decline of the black-footed ferret population.

Process

Each of the three tasks are described below. The underlined words in blue are links to websites in which you will find helpful information:

1) Draw a picture to help people identify the black-footed ferret.

Step 1: View pictures on google images
Step 2: Read about what the black-footed ferret looks like.
Step 3: Get a big art paper and pencils/crayons and creat a picture. Be sure to draw arrows pointing to each telling feature and describe it in a couple words.

2) Write a menu for the black-footed ferret
Step 1: Research what the black-footed ferret eats.
Step 2: Be creative and write up an appetizing menu. Think of menus you've seen in restaurants. How can you make it look nice?

3) Make a "Danger" sign
Step 1: Learn about what has happened to cause black-footed ferret population decline.
Step 2: Design your sign. Know what you're going to write or draw and where you will draw it before you get in on the page.
Step 3: Make the sign.

Evaluation

Each task will be given a score. The lowest score will be 1, the highest score will be 10. Below is a description of benchmark scores:

1 - You will receive a score of 1 if you do not complete the assignment. This means that one, two, or all three assignments are not done or they do not follow the steps assigned. An assignment that's given the score of one will have wrong information and will not be a helpful resource for your research.

5 - You will receive a score of 5 if you've completed all three tasks, but they do not look like finished products. This may mean that there is no color or that they are simply a list of information. The information on such a product will be true but there will not be much of it.

10 - You will receive a score of 10 if all of your tasks are completed and are colored and are something you are proud to present. The information will be very helpful for your research and it is all correct.

Conclusion

Well done! You are well on your way to making an impact for the black-footed ferret in Colorado!
