It hits mainly on the subjects of art, politics and literature. It hits on inspiration as well as the individual. In my eyes i see romanticism as a psychological way to escape from your imagination, as some people would say. Escaping reality with such feelings is something huge during this time. Everyone felt something completely different. Romanticism hits emotion more than anything.
