Introduction

Who will be the newly elected president after President Barack Obama? Would you like to get to know the candidates? The multitude of candidates have dwindled down hoping to win their party's nomination for the 2016 presidential election. Between now and election day, the candidates will continue to enter and leave the race for a variety of reasons. Eventually, each party will use its convention to choose the candidate that will be endorsed. Where they each stand on important national and foreign policies? Would you like to know more about the road to becoming president?  You will examine the political process, the candidtates and their platforms, and make a prediction for the ultimate outcome of election 2016. You will  research by reading, listening, and watching different media sources all about the presedential process and canidates positions on different issues.

TASK

       You are about to go on the campaign trail with the candidates competing to be the next commander in chief of the Unite States. Are you ready to hit the campaign trail? You will be reporting on one of the current candidates with your group informing objectively information about your group's candidate. 

       At the end of this Webquest, you will be responsible for creating a Slideshow/ Prezi for the candidate you are representing.

The SlideShow/ Prezi identifying the following information about the candidate:

  • 1st Title Slide with your candidate's Full Name and current form of employment or political position
  • 2nd Slide: Candidate's party affiliation and 1-2 most major position
  • 3rd Slide: Graph explaining the different current poll numbers/ delegate votes/ standing in the states that have voted (1st, 2nd, etc.)
  • 4th Slide: Who supports this candidate? Well known, celebrity, supporters, groups, etc.
  • 5th Slide: Slogan, current poster/ image being used for their campaign
  • 6th Slide: What demographics support/ are against this candidate? 

Be READY to answer questions about the process and your candidate. This isn't about who you like or don't. This is about researching and learning to be informed citizens.
