Task
Fractions are a part of every day life. They are used in real-life experiences. You will use various websites and videos to learn more about fractions. In the end, you will understand and know how to use fractions.
Process
Before you begin your assignment:
Make sure that your computer/tablet has enough battery or is plugged in.
Give yourself 30 minutes of uninterrupted time to complete the task.
Come back to this assignment as many times as you need to understand fractions.
At the end of this lesson in class:
You will get in groups of 2 students with a whiteboard and dry erase marker for each group. Students will take turns drawing pictures of fractions and their partner will guess the fraction. They will in turn draw a picture of an equivalent fraction. Example: Students A draws a picture of a rectangle and divides it into 2 parts and then shades 1 part of the rectangle. She asks what is the fraction that is shaded. Student B answers 1/2. Student B will draw the same rectangle and divide it into 6 parts and then shades 3 of the parts. Student A will answer 3/6.
You will create a book with four or more pages giving examples of equivalent fractions
You can use pictures, shapes, and numbers to represent the fractions
