Reflective Practice

Introduction

Explore the history of Reflective Practice and core theorists.  As you work, you'll evaluate those theories and consider the relationship they share with your professional practices.

Task

As you complete the WebQuest you will see the views of many theorists, amongst them Kolb, Boud, Schon, Moon, and Pollard.  As you progress, make notes about each theorist, summarising their main argument(s) and critiquing their strengths and weaknesses.

You will be able to use those notes to participate in discussions and contemplate your own practices.

Process

  • 1. With one partner, research reflective practice theories through useful websites and readings. Read through what each offers.  ( Follow any further links which seem interesting and relevant to your group).
  • 2. Make notes about each website amd summarising the main point(s). Determine the strengths and weaknesses of each theory and note supporting evidence.
  • 3. Individually -- Which theory relates best to your personal views?  Please be prepared to share your views with the class.
