Teacher Introduction

Planting with Kindergarteners is a very fun process. I created this webquest as a follow up activity to planting our own plants in the classroom. Each year, children love to plant their own seeds and watch them grow. This webquest will help kindergarteners to deepen their knowledge of the plant life cycle, parts of a plant, and how to care for a plant while they are still excited about the planting process.
Learners
This webquest was designed for Kindergarten students learning about Plants.
Standards
Science
GLE 0007.4.1 Observe how plants and animals change as they grow.
Teacher Process
Before beginning this webquest, students should plant seeds in class to begin the process of understanding plant life cycles. In a Kindergarten classroom, this would work best as a Literacy Station or Center that children rotated through on a day by day basis.
**To accommodate children with different abilities, this webquest could be completed in small groups with teacher guidance or peer mentors could help students that are struggling with navigating the webquest.
