Plant and Animal Cells

Introduction

All organisms have structure and systems with seperate functions.

What different structures do plants and animals use to carry out the same function?

Task

With your partner, take notes on the parts of animal and plant cells.  Include the function of the parts.  When you are done, you will need to compare/contrast animal and plant cells.  Making a model of each using various materials that you and your partner agree on.

Process

Plant video

Second plant video

Watch each video and record notes on your graphic organizer.

Evaluation

You will be evaluated on how well you can explain the differences between a plant and animal cell.  You will also need to know what the nucleus, mitochondria, cell membrane, vacuole, and golgi do for the cell. (what's their job?)

Conclusion

Watching the videos, taking notes and creating a model students will have an understanding of plant and animal cells.
