Introduction

Task

Process
Creating a mnemonic is a lot easier than the word sounds! All you have to do is think of a word that starts with the same letter as the word in the sentence you create. For example: The first planet in our solar system is Mercury. Since Mercury starts with the letter "M" you must think of a word to start off your sentence that begins with the letter "M." We choose to start off with the word "My." The next planet is Venus so now you must come up with a word that starts with the letter "V" to follow. You will do this with every planet until you create a sentence that is easy and simple to remember. Here is an example of the sentence we have created:
My Very Excellent Mother Just Served Us Nachos.
Notice the beginning of every word is the same as the beginning letter in the names of the planets (Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune.)Now, it is your turn to try! Come up with your very own mnemonic to help you memorize the names and order of the planets. To help you with words that go with the beginning letters of the planets, use the following website to help create your very own mnumonic sentence: http://www.teachingideas.co.uk/earth-and-beyond/ordering-planets%20
After using this website it is your task to come up with a unique mnemonic sentence that will help you with remembering the name and order of the planets.
