Introduction
Let's Plan a Holiday!
Students will be assigned a partner. Each pair will get $5,000 to spend on a vacation of their choice. You can chose to bring whoever you want, but you MUST stay within your budget. Be sure to research and plan all aspects of a vacation. (flight information, hotel, food, entertainment, etc.)
Task
Task
1. Choose your destination and research how much plane tickets and hotels cost. Record the answer on your list page.
2. Choose all of the entertainment that you will be doing while on vacation. Calculate the total cost and record that on your list page.
3. Calculate how much money you will spend on food. You can choose to grocery shop or go to restaurants. Make a food budget and add that to the list page.
4. Research any other extra curricular activities you would like to participate in and record that information onto the list page.
5. Write a paragraph explaining where you are going, what you will be doing, and who will be going on vacation with you. Each partner must write his or her own paragraph.
6. Make a booklet with a title page that includes both names, followed by your brainstorming work, then the recording sheet list, then the paragraph.
Process

Conclusion
The Idea of this is so students will be able to understand how to plan ahead and create budgets for their own future plans. Their is always room to make more travel plans as students can make a list of the places they want to go to someday and research the possible costs for travel.
Now that you have planned your vacation, find another group to share your ideas with! See if they have any similarities or differences to you and your partners vacation!
