Introduction
The purpose of this webquest is to help you succeed in Adult Education. You are more likely to succeed if you have clear goals and know your strengths and weaknesses. This webquest will help you learn more about your learning styles, narrow down your possible career choices, and set goals.

Task
You will complete five tasks designed to help you be successful both while you are with Adult Education and after you move on to your next step. To complete this webquest, you must complete the following tasks and present the information to the class in a PowerPoint presentation:
- Complete a Learning Styles Survey to learn more about your learning styles
- Complete the "Reality Check" assignment so that you have a better idea of what kind of lifestyle you want
- Complete the Career Cluster Inventory to narrow down your career choices
- Research a possible career that not only enables you to earn the lifestyle you want, but also falls in one of your top 3 Career Clusters
- Reflect on what you have learned
Process
- Complete the Learning Styles Survey at http://www.educationplanner.org/students/self-assessments/learning-styles.shtml. Make sure that you print your results and look at the information provided about your dominant learning style. You may also be interested in the other styles.
- Get your SCOIS login information from your teacher. Log in to SCOIS at https://sccis.intocareers.org/materials/portal/home.html. Under the "Assessments" tab, click on "Reality Check". Watch the video then click "Start Your Reality Check." When you are done and get to the Results, make sure you "Save" and "Print" the results.
- In SCOIS, under the "Assessments" tab, click on "Career Cluster Inventory." Complete the questions and make sure you "Save" and "Print" the results.
- In SCOIS, under the "Occupations" tab, click on "Career Clusters." Browse through the top three clusters from your Career Cluster Inventory results. Find a job that:
- will earn enough money to meet your requirements from the "Reality Check"
- interests you
- doesn't require more school than you are willing to commit to
- falls in one of the top three clusters from your Career Cluster Inventory
- In PowerPoint, create a presentation that you can share with the class. Your presentation should have at least six slides. Those slides should include the following:
- Introduction - Make sure to include a Title, your name, and the date.
- Learning Styles Results - Make sure to include your results and some tips for your most dominant learning style.
- Reality Check - Discuss the results of your Reality Check assessment.
- Career Cluster Inventory - Discuss the results of your Career Cluster Inventory. Make sure to include at least your top three results.
- Chosen Job - Make sure to include the "Quick Facts" and discuss the educational requirements ("Preparation") and two other pieces of information that you found interesting.
- Reflection - Did any of this information surprise you? What tips from the Learning Styles survey were you already doing? What tips from the Learning Styles survey will you use in the future? Is the "Reality Check" suggested salary higher or lower than you thought it would be? Did the results of the Career Cluster Inventory surprise you? After researching the job you chose, are you still interested in it?
Evaluation
Your presentation will be graded using the following rubric. Make sure you turn in all of your results.

Upon completion of this webquest, you have identified your dominant learning style, set a wage goal for your future, and identified a possible job. Hopefully, this information has helped you to learn more about yourself and set some goals for the future.
