Introduction
Many times in the Bible, we read stories where women are present but not highlighted and at times, aren’t even mentioned. However, we know that many great women were followers of Jesus and played an important role in the birth of Christianity and the spreading of the Good News.

Task
Your task is to rewrite a Bible scene or story from a woman’s perspective. You may choose a woman named in the Bible or create a fictional woman to insert into a factual* Biblical story.
*This is a creative project so you may take creative license. This means that for the sake of your story, if you need to create other characters or background information not mentioned in the Bible, that's okay. However, the general plot and structure of your scene/story should be Bible-based.

Process
Before you start writing, you are going to want to do some research. Make sure that you have read the story/scene you want to rewrite. Be familiar with the characters presented, the way the story is laid out, and the details already present.
Then, do some research on what it was like to be a woman in Bible times. What did women do for work? How did they dress? How were they treated?
Next, pick or create the woman you want to tell the story. If you choose a woman already mentioned in the Bible, it would be smart to read some of the other stories she’s in. This may give you insight into her personality.
Finally, start writing!
Here is a list of web sources to get you started. Feel free to use others but make sure you list the resources you used.

Evaluation
I would create a rubric for my students but here are the requirements I would include:
Story must be 2-5 pages in length.
Story must be told from a woman’s perspective.
Story must stay true to the Bible (students are allowed creative license and may add supporting detail, characters, and dialogue but no drastic changes to the original plot).
Students must submit a 'Resources Used' page containing a list of the web sites (5 minimum) they used for the research portion of their project. Each web site listed must also have a brief statement of what useful information was gleaned from that site.
Conclusion
By changing our perspective, we are able to receive a richer blessing from the stories of the Bible.
