Introduction
This is a Stage 1 WebQuest on the topic "My Family Story'.
In this WebQuest you will research your own families origins and traditions as well as come to an understanding that all families are different accross the world.
This unit aims to teach you respect for different cultures and communities and allows you to explore your key questions and ideas.
The outcome that this unit encourages you to explore, is that people are connected to the places where they live and that people and environment impact on one another.
Task
Students will research their family's country or place of origin and write ten interesting facts about that country.
Students will find out what a family tree is and create one of their family.
Students will create a video about their family and their home and what makes their family unique.
Process
1. The first task is to complete an online safety quiz.
As you will be using the internet for research it is important that you know how to stay safe online.

2. Ask your family at home about your family origins.
Did your family come from a country other than Australia? Have you moved within Australia? Why?
Research your country of origin and find out 10 interesting facts about that country or place. Create either a PowerPoint or a Word Document.

3. Collect some family photos to share with your classmates. Try to get a range of people from your family such as grandparents, cousins, or siblings. Think about how the people in your photos are connected to each other.

Prepare a speech for your video about your home and whjat makes it special to you.
