Shakesperian plays, such as Hamlet, may not seem so relatable to today's society. Once you dig a little deeper it is easy to see many similarites to society today, primarily in relation to human behavior.
Task

In groups of four you will analyze your assigned scene and write 2-3 paragraphs on how that scene could be modernized. From there, your group will perform your modernized scene. By doing this we can create a better understanding of Hamlet while having fun doing it!

You will get into groups of four and I will assign you one of the following scenes from Hamlet:
- Act I, scene i
- Act I, scene ii
- Act I, scenes iii-iv
- Act I, scene v-Act II, scene i
- Act II, scene ii
- Act III, scene i
- Act III, scene iii
- Act III, scene iv
- Act IV, scenes i-ii
- Act IV, scenes iii-iv
- Act IV, scene vii
- Act V, scene i
- Act V, scene ii
From there you and your group will individually write 2-3 paragraphs on how you could modernize Hamlet. You then will write your scene as a script and perform it in class.
