You and the troupe of writers/actors that are you are with have been commissioned to create a skit explaining the time of Advent for the Prophets’ Playhouse.

The Producer has asked that you to create a skit that shows the true meaning of Advent by demonstrating knowledge of this time.

You will work with a group (3-4) and take notes on the Advent Notes for the Prophets’ Playhouse Writers and Actors worksheet Advent Notes (print)

Before you begin your research and writing, please print the Advent Notes Worksheet.

You and your troupe will gather information together and then cooperatively write a skit detailing the importane of this time for Catholics and for the Church.

Visit the following website and take notes (on the Advent Notes Worksheet) about the important information concerning Advent:

  1. What is the meaning of “Advent”
  2. When is Advent?
  3. What are the symbols of Advent?
  4. Why are these symbols important?
  5. Important aspects of Advent.

Process

Task

Now that you have completed your initial research, you will write up a skit (on Google Drive. One person will create a document and share it with everyone in the group so that you can all work on it together) as a troupe and be sure to double check that each member has a part!  EACH MEMBER SHOULD HAVE A WRITTEN COPY.

Be sure to include:

  • Heading

  • Title

  • Facts about Advent

Review the following rubric to ensure that you have met all of the requirements in order to be successful in your final grade. This will be used to grade your final performance.
