Introduction
Classroom Management
As with many terms in education, Classroom Management means slightly different things to different people. In this WebQuest, you'll gain some ideas about how to make the improvements you seek in your Classrom Management.
So what does classroom management mean to you? At which parts do you excel? Where would you like to grow? This WebQuest is designed to help you reflect on your current practice and do some professional reading to supplement what you already know.
Task
We'll do this in three parts:
First, we'll explore what multiple resources have to say about classroom management. These will be divided into three categories. There are general (k-12) resources, elementary (PreK-5) resources, and secondary (6-12) resources. Please make notes from at least two (2) from your grade band, and at least one (1) from the general category. A table with some guided questions has been provided to you.
Next, we'll synthesize what we've had the chance to explore. How can the ideas you've gleaned from the readings you've chosen be put together in new, useful ways?
Finally, we'll take the ideas you've synthesized and name some ways to apply what you've learned today.
Ready? Then let's go!
