Life Cycle of a Frog

Introduction

You are a scientist exploring the different life cycles of the various animals of the planet. You have been given the adventure of learning how tadpoles develop into marvelous frogs. After watching the video of how the frogs develop in their own environment, you will be able to illustrate the development of a frog, which is called metamorphosis.

Task

Your task is to create an illustration of the life cycle of a frog.  You will have the options of making a poster board, foldable, or a drawing to show your knowledge of the four step process known as "metamorphesis".

Process

You will explore the evolution of a frog which belongs to the family of amphibians. An amphibian is a cold-blooded vertebrate animal that is born in water and breathes with gills. As the larva grows into its adult form, the animal's lungs develop the ability to breathe air, and the animal can live on land. Frogs, toads, and salamanders are allamphibians.

Now after completing your research, choose from the options below to illustrate your knowledge on the four stages of a frog's life cycle.  Be sure to include the steps in order as the process occurs, as well.

Option 1:  Bulletin Board

Option 2:  Create a Foldable

Option 3:  Draw a Diagram

(10)  Organisms and environments. The student knows that organisms undergo similar life processes and have structures that help them survive within their environments. The student is expected to:

(C)  investigate and compare how animals and plants undergo a series of orderly changes in their diverse life cycles such as frogs.
