Let's Explore the US: Monuments, Sites, and Landmarks

Introduction

Welcome Explorers!

You are about to explore the US in a whole new way. So get ready for an adventure like none you have ever had before. I hope you're ready because today begins a journey into US history! The journey you are about to take is a journey to some of the most important places in US history and all places you should know about.

Task

You will have the opportunity to discover many of the national monuments, sites, and landmarks throughout the US.  After exploring the different places you will research one in which you will create a trading card for.  Be prepared to present your trading card to your class. Your presentation will need to include the importance of the monument, site, or landmark you are presenting, one interesting fact you learned, and one question you still have.

Process

Step 1: The following links will provide you with the information you will need to create your trading card. If you feel you need additional information you may select one of the books in the 4th grade bucket to provide you more information. A graphic organizer will be provided for you to complete while doing your research. This graphic organizer will help you in Step 2.
