Introduction
In this webquest, we are going to take on a journey into the color wheel. It is important to know what the primary colors are and how to mix them to create other colors. Without mixing colors, we would have a very limited variety of different colors!
Task
The goal of this is for students to engage in learning about the different types of colors that can be made with the primary colors of blue, yellow, and red.
Process
1. Find 2 objects in the classroom that are not primary colors.
2. Think of the possible color mixtures required to produce the given color.
3. Try your ideas through mixing these colors with the provided paint, paintbrushes, and paper.
4. Once the final color is reproduced, paint a picture using this color and another non-primary color of your choice.
Evaluation
| 1 | 2 | 3 | |
| Creativeness | Student did not display ideas outside of the box. | Student seemed to start to think of outside of the box ideas. | Student stepped outside of the box in the overall painting. |
| Effort | Student showed no interest in the activity. | Student attempted to understand the process overall. | Student attempted to understand the process deeply. |
| Accuracy | Student only created one color. | Student created one non- primary color that matched one object. | Student created two non-primary colors that matched the objects. |
Conclusion
Students will have learned that all colors besides blue, yellow, and red, are a mix of two or more different colors.
