What does a Lawyer do?
A lawyer is a licensed professional entitled to draw up wills, contracts and other legal documents, to offer legal advice and opinions, and to prosecute or defend people in law courts. They work for private law firms, legal aid, as Crown prosecutors, or in offices at the federal, provincial and municipal level of government, as well as for businesses
Why Law?
Going to law school is ultimately about learning to structure your arguments in the best light to make them successful. There is rarely a "correct" answer to any question in law school. In fact, the professors in law school do everything they can to make any questions they ask contain gray areas. They want your structured thoughts, your arguments, your intellect.
Task
Your task is to familarize yourself with what being a lawyer is like. What lawyer must go through to on a daily basis. What the average salary is like. What are positives and negative they must go through. And how it really feels to be a lawyer. Find out as much as possible about being a lawyer.
Process
Step One
You'll start a stress journal and write in it every time you feel stressed and what caused it, for 7 days. This is one example of what lawyers have to go through.
Step Two
Take two test online to see find out what you personality is like. Take notes.
Step Three
Write a paper on whether becoming a lawyer is something you might actually be interested. Why or why not? What questions do you have?
Step Four
Create a powerpoint with details of what its like to be a lawyer, and everything you have learned.
